About us
The dedicated space for IP marketing and BD professions.
The intellectual property industry is a world unto itself, distinct in its language and in the way stakeholders operate.
Yet while law firm marketing and business development professionals have long had groups and associations to turn to, until recently none were dedicated to the particular needs of those working in IP.
Jamie Sternberg and Kingsley Egbuonu founded the IP Marketing Alliance (IPMA) in July 2026 to close that gap.
IPMA is a global community for marketing and business development professionals working in intellectual property.
We bring together people from across the IP sector to share knowledge, exchange best practices, tackle common challenges, deepen expertise, and build meaningful professional relationships.
Whether you are an established leader, an emerging professional, or an IP practitioner (a partner or firm owner) with marketing and business development responsibilities, IPMA offers a trusted forum to connect, learn, and grow alongside peers across the global IP community.

How we work
Open exchange, protected.
IPMA convenes people who work for competing firms. That only works if everyone knows the rules. Our sessions run under the Chatham House Rule: what is said may be used, but nothing is attributed. Members do not share competitively sensitive information: pricing, client identities, or confidential strategy.
It is why firms are comfortable letting their teams take part, and why the conversation is more useful than the usual conference panel.
Members are free to share their views or questions publicly on our LinkedIn group page. They can also send questions, anonymously, to the management team to get answers from other members on LinkedIn.
